Hey Everyone. I don't normally do this, but it's been a really hard few days. For anyone that doesn't know, Melanie's brother's children, Lizzie (3) and Devon (5) were badly injured in a car accident on Sunday night. Lizzie passed away on Monday and Devon is in the intensive care unit fighting for his life. The funeral expenses for Lizzie are nearly $10,000 and the family has already been struggling financially and does not have the resources to pay for the funeral (even if they weren't, who has $10,000 set aside to bury a child). The funeral home is requiring almost $4000 today or they won't do the service!
Devon and Lizzie have touched so many lives in their short time here. They have a huge family and are loved by many. They are both very special to Melanie and I. We have rocked them to sleep, fed them, played with them in the backyard, taken them on trips to the zoo and Chuck E. Cheese. At this point we can't picture life without either one of them.

If anyone is able to donate anything to help, it would be greatly appreciated. We are burying Lizzie on Friday, and it is going to take everyone's full strength to get through the day. For the family to be having to worry about how they will pay to bury this sweet baby on top of the grief makes the tragedy even worse.
