We Are The Fallen Signed by Universal Republic Records
It's official! The following press release was issued a short time ago:
NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Universal Republic Records has signed new rock group We Are The Fallen, it was announced today by Monte Lipman, President and CEO of Universal Republic Records. The new band is comprised of the original members of multiplatinum trailblazing band Evanescence, guitarists Ben Moody and John LeCompt along with drummer Rocky Gray, with enigmatic American Idol finalist Carly Smithson powering the vocal reins of the new group. Respected touring and studio bassist Marty O’Brien (Disturbed and Static-X, among others) rounds out the iconic fivesome.

Back In The Studio
Carly and We Are The Fallen are, as promised, back in the studio recording. They have begun sending out a lot of fun pictures and videos via twitter.
Carly recently tweeted the following:

Douglas Sonders is the photographer who took the desert photos of WATF for their initial press conference.

Statement from We Are The Fallen
Hey Guys,
Sorry I've been MIA lately. I've been super busy with work and am so exhauseted when I get home. Nate has been doing a great job of keeping the main page up and I appreciate everything the moderators and everyone else is doing.

Carly asked me to share the following statement with everyone. We have a great group here and I think everyone works together to handle issues well. I just want to remind everyone that while respectful discussions and disagreements are always welcome, anything said that is hurtful or discriminatory is unacceptable. As always, please report any issues to me or one of the moderators.

It has been brought to our attention that a small minority of participants on the chat pages of wearethefallenfans.com have shared bias publicly. Collectively, we do not condone, or wish to have any association with individuals who take it upon themselves to share opinions which are sexist, racist, or defamatory. Under no condition will we tolerate being linked to behavior detrimental to a community forum that is all encompassing and inclusive of every individual walking this earth – regardless of race, sexual orientation, religion or any aspect that makes each of us individually who we are.
We value the opportunity to connect directly with those that have participated in these forums, and look forward to you guys being a part of this band from our inception in to the future. However, in order to continue to be a part of wearethefallenfans.com, there will be a no tolerance policy that your moderators will do their best to police. If you opt to make this environment that is built by the fans, for the fans, a place of attacks then you are not welcome here – and you will be blocked permanently.

Carly said she had a great vacation and is so excited to get back in the studio on Monday. She's really proud of the music they've been making and can't wait for everyone to hear it.

Latest on Carly and We Are The Fallen
It's been a long time since our last update, so I though I would update everyone on what Carly and the band have been doing.
After completing demos for some songs, We Are The Fallen went their separate ways for some rest and relaxation. Carly has just returned from vacation to Ireland and Italy.
According to the official We Are The Fallen twitter page, the band is scheduled to be back together in the studio on October 26th to begin the next step in the recording process.

Carly attended David Cook's show in LA last night, along with fellow season 7 alums Brooke White, Jason Castro, Michael Johns, Syesha Mercado, and Ramiele Malubay. They snapped a couple of pictures of the event.

Back from LA
Mel and I got back from our little LA vacation last night (yawn). While we were there, we had lunch with Carly. She's doing great and is so happy to be making music with the boys. As always, she is so grateful for everyone's continued support. She talked about the feedback she gets on Twitter - she is reading your messages, so keep showing her your support!
Carly played us some of the music she and the band have been working on - it's amazing. Even unfinished, the depth and power of the music is obvious. I know the wait is painful (trust me, the taste we got just made us hungry for more), but it is going to be SO worth it. It's clear that everyone in the band is bringing their best to the table, and amazingly, the sum of their talents is even greater than each of their parts alone.
This is the music that Carly was meant to make.
p.s. Thanks Nate, for keeping the site up to date as we've been traveling. You're a life saver. And thanks to everyone who sends in news. We truly appreciate it.
